According to the latest cricket news, Indian fast bowler Mohammad Siraj spoke about how his life has changed post his father’s death. Siraj’s journey from rags to riches has certainly been an inspiration for many. The fast bowler made his debut for India in the 2021-22 Border Gavaskar Trophy.

Siraj debuted in the second test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground against a star-studded Australian lineup. After a humiliating defeat at Adelaide, most of the cricket predictions were that India was going to get whitewashed in the series. But Siraj and co stood tall in the absence of Virat Kohli and won the memorable series down under.

Mohammad Siraj talking on RCB Podcast said that the death of his father had a very huge impact on his life. His father wanted to see him succeed after all the hard work the fast bowler had put in.

Siraj speaks about his father’s demise

“Life has changed but it has lost its charm because when dad was there it was amazing,” Siraj said on the RCB podcast. “He wanted to watch his son succeed after all the hard work I was putting in. It gave him a different kind of joy watching me put in the hard yards.

“I always dreamt of performing in front of him, which got a bit fulfilled but more of that would have been nicer. Like when I performed at the Gabba or Lord’s, his presence would have added to my joy.”

Siraj said that the responsibility has increased now. He wants to keep living his father’s dream of working hard, playing for the country, and winning matches for the nation.

“Responsibility has definitely increased. I have a younger brother who manages the home. Mom is there too. I just want to keep living my dad’s dream. That’s my motivation,” Siraj added.

“When I get sad, I motivate myself by thinking this is my dad’s dream. Whenever sadness creeps into my life, I manage to push it away by thinking of dad’s dream,” he added.
