Monkey D. Luffy’s attacks are often based on experiences that he has had. Gomu Gomu no Pistol is one example. This attack could have been modified from his words, “My hit looks very much like an gun.”

Luffy could have witnessed Lucky Roo use Lucky Roo’s gun to defend Ace against a bandit attack to injure Shanks. Gomu Gomu Bazooka attacked. Luffy thought at the time that Sabo was killed in the bazooka strike. Bazooka is Luffy’s last attack to stop the enemy, until the time-skip. This technique already had many casualties.

The Storm attack was next, which Luffy learned from his time in Alabasta. It hadn’t rained in many decades. Crocodile was defeated by Luffy who used a storm to defeat him. Luffy’s Haki attacks also derive from his time-skip experience at Rusukaina. His Gear 4 names are largely derived from the names and experiences he had with the animals he met there.

King Kong Guns, Leo Bazookas, Pythons, Black Mambas, and so forth. Even Ace is respected by the Red Hawk attack, so even the name of the animal is used. Red Roc is Luffy’s new attack. Red roc, as Geeks may realize, is not Gear 4 but Gear 3.

Gomu Gomu not Red Roc will be the next Luffy’s Red Hawk. Roc, also known as Hawk, is a soaring bird. Roc, a giant bird-of-prey in Middle Eastern mythology, can even eat an entire elephant. But, Luffy has a theory about why his attack Red Roc is named. This could have something to do Raizo.

Oda shared a complete two-page story about Raizo that was over 200 words long. It shows that Luffy doesn’t forget him. Luffy is also aware of the suffering, pain, death, and all the harm Kaido has done to others. Red Roc may have been involved in his kidnapping and tie-up at Zou.

Raizo is shown tied on a Poneglyph. However, it turns out that it’s not an ordinary Poneglyph. The Road Poneglyph is red in color. The Poneglyph itself was created by the Kozuki clan. The Red Roc attack is therefore likely to have been in honor Ace, Raizo, as well as all Red Scabbards – a generalized attack that affected all of Wano.

This might explain why, when Luffy attacked Kaido yesterday in Chapter 1000, we saw several flashback scenes. The battle opened with Luffy attacking Kaido in Chapter 1000 yesterday. It was indeed dedicated to all who had suffered from Kaido. What’s more, Luffy defeated Kaido at the exact same spot or part of Kaido’s face when Ace destroyed Kaido’s dragon statue.
