M. Night Shyamalan didn’t get a lot of praise for The Last Airbender. The film seemed to be falling apart in its own way. This is surprising given how popular the show was back then, as well as how successful the director who took over. But, eight years after the original film’s release, do we have any chance of another?
The idea was inspired by the animated show “Avatar The Legend of the Aang”, a success that has been broadcast since 2005. The movie was a success story and everyone believed it would succeed so a budget of $150 million was set to film it. In order to make the film more successful, it was premiered in 3D cinemas. The film was a great success but the negative feedback received by the public led to the studio having to pull the plug.

Avatar of The Last Airbender appears to be coming to Netflix in the second half of 2022. Perhaps during the holiday season.
Officially, production on the new series is in progress. Netflix announced that production will begin in November 2021.
According to Hollywood North, it will continue through June 2022 at Vancouver, British Columbia.
If production is completed before May 20, 2022, the series could premiere in November 2022 or December 2022. The most likely release scenario right now for Avatar The Last Airbender.
It is possible that we will have to wait for the season premiere. This means that The Final Airbender will likely be on Netflix sometime between fall 2023 and spring 2023.
